The fact is that that cultivation of small aquarium fishes — is quite whimsical business. After all, we are dealing with live beings. It is different from trading in products in a shop, because here you have to constantly look after the “goods”. It is very difficult to leave for a few days, because you have to look after your pets, but if you really love this business, there should be no problems.

Aquariums for small fish cultivation

For starters you need some big and small aquariums. They will be various volumes – from 20 to 700 liters, because different types of fish demand different quantity of water. Some type of fish demand one amount of water, and others demand 50-60 liters for only one type of fish. You will use small aquariums to maintain new born fish for a couple of weeks. After all, during this period there is a risk that kids will be eaten by their own parents, and also by other neighbors while staying in one reservoir. For this purpose aquariums that are 20-50 liters are very useful.

Aquarian fishes

To make this business grow, you have to always have the most unusual and exotic species of fish in your stock. Fishes from “cichlid” family are very popular today. They are very different, all types differ among themselves by form, sizes and color. These fishes are always in demand nowadays.

For starters, 20-30 pairs of fish will suffice you. Only do not think about getting your fishes from the market, because there is a possibility to buy sick or semi-thoroughbred fishes. Buy young growth fish only in serious specialized shops. Further there are two options, to make money by cultivating and then selling young fishes at a high price, so that others would grow them and look after, or to cultivate small aquarian fishes and then sale them to the final customers. The first option, easier, less troublesome, and also allows to earn good money.

The best option is to go get the fishes from their homeland, from warm countries. There is a problem – customs. If your uncle works at customs, then it is not a problem, because you can safely transfer and sell them in 3-4 times more expensively than purchased. If you don’t have relatives like that, then you can forget about this method. After all, getting through customs is not so simple, and fishes should be delivered as soon as possible as they can die during transportation duo to stress and other situations that may occur.

As a rule, aquarian business starts paying off approximately after a half a year. The most valuable fishes are brought from Germany, and the cheapest option is from Thailand. Remember, ti you have opened such business during summertime, do not be surprised to small number of sales, because the best demand on aquarian small fishes is observed during winter time.

Number one sales channel is Internet. For this purpose it is necessary to create a website where you can publish the catalogue with your small fishes that are available and are on sale. Only do not make a mistake, update the website every time you got a new fish or no fishes are left. You should update your catalogue constantly. That way you will find even more clients for the business. Considering that now many species are estimated at 50$ – 250$ each. Now think how much money can be earned on such “hobby”.
